Advancement on Interstate Compact for Reciprocity

Mar 26, 2015
On Friday, March 20th, counseling licensure board representatives from Kentucky and Tennessee agreed to an interstate compact for counselor licensure.

The Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia counseling licensure board representatives met at the ACA 2015 Conference in Orlando to discuss an interstate compact for counselor licensure. Kentucky and Tennessee signed the agreement and the other two states are moving forward to implement the compact.

This is the first advancement of an interstate compact for reciprocity of counselor licensure within a region. ACA applauds the four states and American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB) for following through on its pledge to advance licensure portability.
