ACA President-Elect Thelma Duffey writes a monthly blog post for Psychology Today, which focuses on various issues related to mental health. Her most recent post shares observations from 25 years of counseling men.
She writes, “The bottom line is that society can place unrealistic expectations on men to be autonomous and self-reliant. And yet, as human beings, at one time or another we all need support, direction, and encouragement. By providing counseling in ways that men can relate to and understand, we have an opportunity to participate in creating new possibilities for men and for the people who love them."
