ACA in the News: Sandwich Generation Stress

ACA member Meg Stoltzfus spoke with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about common workplace issues facing the “Sandwich Generation," a demographic that social scientists describe as between the ages of 40 to 59, raising children and caring for aging parents at the same time they are struggling to keep up with their own expenses and save for retirement.
“If they are seen as someone with a lot of personal issues, they may not be given important projects and opportunities…But by not being forthcoming, they could lose out on some opportunity for support because they may have a sympathetic manager or team. They may also miss out on benefits offered by their employer for caregivers” said Stoltzfus.
