ACA Issues Statement on Supreme Court Case

Nov 03, 2016
The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case involving whether a transgender boy will be allowed to use the men’s restroom at his high school.
ACA encourages the Supreme Court to rule in support of accepting the full inclusion of ALL students in schools. By taking on Gloucester County School Board v. G.G, the Court has an opportunity to strike down discriminatory policies and ensure that all students are treated fairly under the law.

The issues being decided in this case are important to both Licensed Professional Counselors who work in facilities that partner with the federal government and professional school counselors working in public schools. In addition, the Supreme Court has an opportunity to provide a clear, definitive answer on how letters of guidance and opinions from the Department of Education and the Administration should be adhered to.
