ACA Media Spotlight: Sometimes It's All in the Perspective

In her June column for Psychology Today, ACA President-elect Dr. Thelma Duffey shares advice on gaining perspective when our plans do not work out as expected. Sometimes when Plan A fails, we feel grief and loss. By forming a new perspective, we can work wonders to take the power out of any lingering hurt or feelings of rejection.

“If you are grieving a less than desirable Plan A-type loss, connect to others who appreciate you and then reciprocate the feeling. Mutual respect and care go a long way toward living a productive and fulfilling life. Connect with the positive energy around you,” Dr. Duffey writes.
