Dr. David Kaplan, ACA's Chief Professional Officer, testified on Friday, June 27 before the DC Committee on Health.
Dr. Kaplan represented ACA in support of the
Conversion Therapy for Minors Prohibition Amendment Act. If enacted, this law would ban reparative therapy for minors in the District of Columbia.
This follows up on successful acts in California and New Jersey to ban sexual orientation change efforts with minors.
Council member Yvette Alexander, the Chair of the hearing, publicly stated that the ACA testimony was one of the clearest she had heard all day.
