General Mills, the Hamburger Helper people, has created the My Hometown Helper program to help neighborhoods nationwide. Individuals from communities and organizations across America can submit a written essay of 250 words or less describing how a "My Hometown Helper" grant might impact their citizens. Maximum Award: $15,000. Eligibility: Requests for funding must be sponsored by a municipal or civic organization or public school. Deadline: September 30, 2007.
