Dr. Patrick J. "Joe" McDonough, ACA’s sixth executive director passed away Friday, May 9. He was 76. Dr. McDonough, who was Executive Director from 1983-1990, served with dedication, commitment, and the desire to move the profession to new heights.

Dr. Patrick J. "Joe" McDonough, ACA’s sixth executive director passed away Friday, May 9. He was 76. Dr. McDonough, who was Executive Director from 1983-1990, served with dedication, commitment, and the desire to move the profession to new heights.
On Tuesday, May 13, many of Dr. McDonough’s family, friends, and colleagues, including several ACA staff members, gathered for his memorial service. At 10:00 am on that day, ACA observed seven minutes of silence in his honor, each minute representing one of the years in which he served as executive director.
