The Ohio counselor licensure board has reported that it is the first state to endorse CACREP and its affiliate CORE for counselor licensure.
Starting in 2018, all applicants for counselor licensure in Ohio will need to graduate from a CACREP-accredited clinical mental health, clinical rehabilitation, or clinical addiction counseling program. All graduates of CACREP-accredited clinical mental health, clinical rehabilitation, or clinical addiction counseling programs from outside the state will automatically meet the educational requirements for licensure in Ohio.
