Red Cross DMH Responders Needed in South Carolina

Oct 19, 2015
The American Red Cross is in need of ACA members who are Red Cross-certified Disaster Mental Health (DMH) responders to deploy to the South Carolina flood response.
Although the national media has largely stopped covering the disaster, the Red Cross is still there serving the residents of the nearly 25 impacted counties. There are many people in shelters who cannot return to their homes.

The Red Cross needs more DMH responders to ensure the emotional needs of clients are met. Interested volunteers should be Red Cross-certified (i.e., have taken the Disaster Mental Health Fundamentals Course) AND be part of the Volunteer Connection system. Please note the expected deployment length is 10 days. If you are available to deploy and are Red Cross-certified, please update your information and availability in the Red Cross Volunteer Connection and/or contact your local chapter about deployment.
