Latest update from American Red Cross on disaster mental health assistance re Hurricane Isaac: All ARC certified disaster mental health volunteers who are able to respond to Hurricane Isaac are asked to contact their local Red Cross chapter immediately. This call is ONLY for ACA members who are currently certified in disaster mental health by the Red Cross.
If you are not yet certified and are interested in becoming certified to assist with future disasters, Red Cross training is available through your local Red Cross chapter (www.redcross.org) as well as at the ACA Conference (www.counseling.org/conference) in March, 2013. ARC certification is available to licensed counselors and certified school counselors. Students are not eligible.
