David Robert Rasse

David Robert Rasse passed away on December 25, 2022.

Rasse earned a bachelor’s in psychology and political science and a master’s in clinical psychology from Central Missouri State University. He started his career as a drug and alcohol counselor in Clinton and Sedalia, Missouri, and later he founded David R. Rasse & Associates in Marshall, Missouri.

Throughout his counseling career, Rasse welcomed every opportunity to continue learning, and he enjoyed participating in leadership roles within professional associations and mentoring his fellow therapists.

He also served his rural communities with great devotion and pride. When he noticed a need for local psychiatric services, he sponsored a monthly psychiatric clinic. This continued until Rasse, along with other rural mental health agencies, entered into an agreement with Missouri University of Columbia’s School of Psychiatry to send psychiatrists to fill the need and turn this clinic into a daily service.

Rasse is survived by his wife Jerri, children Robin (Brennan), Matthew (Nicole) and Jessica (Kolton); grandchildren Makayla, Jackson, Baron, Nora, Norah, Meredith and Cole; sister Marilyn Dodd; nephew Ed (Melissa) Dodd, niece Marian (Jeff) Kling; grandniece and nephews Olivia and Johnny Kling and Owen Dodd; half-brother Tom (Sharon) Ferman and half-sister Elaine Rose; and several cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Child Safe of Central Missouri.
