What started out as a protest by the LGBTQ community for justice and equal rights in Greenwich Village, NY, has grown into a global celebration of diversity, individuality and acceptance. During Pride month, ACA celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and the
many contributions they make to society. We also lift up their voices and advocate in support of their right to the enjoy protections and privileges that are extended to all people, including equal access to healthcare and mental health services.
ACA has compiled resources to help counselors provide inclusive, culturally appropriate mental healthcare to the LGBTQ+ community. We have also developed advocacy resources that allow counselors to navigate the legislative landscape as discriminatory
laws that threaten to roll back the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals are introduced across the country.
