A group of 31 organizations representing the counseling profession worked together from 2005-2013 to promote the needs of professional counselors. Sponsored by ACA and the American Association of State Counseling Boards, 20/20: A Vision for the Future of Counseling focused on advancing the counseling profession and engaging in profession-wide strategic planning.

Accomplishments included the Principles for Unifying and Strengthening the Profession, the Consensus Definition of Counseling, and the Building-Blocks-to-Portability-Project.
